David Gaffney, LMSW, BCDCH, EFT-Adv, co-presenter
David Gaffney, LMSW, BCDCH, EFT-Adv graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Hope College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. He completed his externship in Systemic Family Therapy from the University of Calgary Medical School. Dave is additionally a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Hypnosis and exam-certified as an advanced Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner. Dave has 30+ years of clinical social work experience, serving in positions ranging from line staff to Director of Behavioral Health. He currently works as Clinical Social Worker at the Aleda E Lutz VAMC in Saginaw, Michigan, providing psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, biofeedback and mindful meditation training in the Integrated Pain Clinic. He additionally leads the Saginaw Opioid Safety Initiative Panel. David is also the Director of Training at D. K. Associates, a Midwest-based behavioral healthcare training organization, where he also holds his private clinical practice. He has served on the board for the MidWest Society of Behavioral Medicine and Biofeedback. David currently serves as national VA Subject Matter Expert for Hypnosis, Biofeedback and Guided Imagery. He also serves as a VA mentor/trainer for CBT-Chronic Pain. He currently works with the VHA Office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation Integrated Health Coordination Center as the National Champion for Clinical Hypnosis and Guided Imagery.
