Vanathi Gopalakrishnan, PhD
Vanathi Gopalakrishnan is a tenured Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics in the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. She has joint appointments in Bioengineering as well as Clinical and Translational Science. She directs the PRoBE Laboratory for Pattern Recognition from Biomedical Evidence. She recently served as the elected Director of the Intelligent Systems Program, a premier multidisciplinary graduate degree program in applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the School of Computing and Information. Her laboratory develops hybrid AI approaches to mining multimodal biomedical data using prior knowledge to support clinical decision making.
